Biography
- Bill Wrigley
Bill Wrigley has specialized in professional
mural painting for over 25 years and is recognized in
Canada as one of it's leading artists in the field.
He has earned commissions from as far away as Japan
and Mexico and numerous from throughout Canada and the
United States. His first solo show of private works
took place in Toronto in 1991 and continued with further
shows in Miami where he resided from '92-94.
While still maintaining an active muraling tenure, Bill
also does creative work in fine arts, exhibiting his
creations in galleries and public venues. Highlights
for 2005 included a Paris mural commission, Bill's first
in Europe and a Canada Council and Ontario Arts Council
visual arts grant for his sculptures. Public exhibitions
included a juried presentation at the Arkansas Art Center
in Little Rock from March to April. Also featured were
the Queen West Art Crawl in September and Little Art
Show in November in which Bill's painting set the highest
price for an auctioned work that evening. It will be
the feature poster image for the Riverdale ArtWalk in
June, 2006
Bill hails from Pierrefonds, Quebec, a suburb of Montreal,
but has maintained a home in Toronto since 1980. His
love of drawing and painting has been paramount throughout
his life. His passions include cycling and the collecting
of classic automobiles. Recreationally he enjoys camping
and digital photography.
